Testimonial: Runner Finds Foot Relief
August 30th, 2010“ I am delighted to tell others about your fantastic soy candles and what they have done for me! I am a long distant runner and have run for 32 years. I could cream my feet four times a day and they still are very dry. They crack. Over the years I have tried everything from over the counter to the dermatologist. He even recommended super glue! I had to use super glue to close the deep cracks in my heels and bottoms of my feet just for the intense pain. Then about four years ago I found your soy candles. I always keep one on my night stand. When my heels crack open, (ouch) and my cuticles are dry and split I rub the soy on. It takes 48 hours and they are healed. Honest! No medication out there from the doctor ever worked! He ran out of medications for me to try. Thank you for having this wonderful page to give testimony to your excellent products!”

Testimonial: Poison Ivy Met Its Match
June 21st, 2010“Thanks to the sales lady [Janet] who sold us a soy lotion ball on June 2. I was suffering from a terrible case of poison ivy, the worst being on my arm. The soy ball helped with the itching and pain almost immediately. Still have some residual scarring but the symptoms are gone. Thanks to [Janet] and that lotion ball, the rest of my vacation was very enjoyable. See you next year.”

Isle of Candles Combines Retail Store and Candle Factory
June 7th, 2010Pawleys Island, SC –Isle of Candles has recently combined its retail store and candle factory. Still located in the Pawleys Island Hammock Shops Village, the retail store is now only steps away from its original location.
“We always encourage shoppers to take a dip into our soy lotion candles and soon we will also invite them to take a peek into our candle factory,” says Isle of Candles owner, Kathy Miller.
The retail store and candle factory existed for years in separate buildings. Now that the store and factory are under the same roof, customers will soon have an opportunity to look through a window into the factory and watch the soy lotion candles being made.
This full-service candle store is most known for the hand-crafted soy lotion candles produced in the on-site factory. To use the soy candles as a luxurious lotion, simply burn the candle until the pool of soy reaches the container’s edge. Then extinguish the flame and safely dip a finger into the melted soy oil. The soy lotion leaves skin feeling silky smooth. Naturally rich in vitamin E, Isle of Candles’ soy lotion candles are natural skin moisturizers and have been known to relieve eczema, psoriasis, sunburn and insect bites and diminish the appearance of scars. Soy candles burn longer, cleaner and cooler than regular paraffin wax candles. They are good for the environment and Isle of Candles’ soy lotion candles are good for use on your skin. This store is also gaining popularity with the memory candles it makes from their customers’ flowers. These everlasting memory candles are a beautiful way to forever treasure a floral bouquet from a special occasion, such as weddings and memorial services.
Isle of Candles is open daily. For more information or to shop online, visit www.isleofcandles.com. The Hammock Shops Village is located at 10880 Ocean Highway.
Soy Lotion Use Yielded “NO SCAR!!” Testimonial
May 20th, 2010“Recently I had a facial sebaceous cyst requiring hospitalization for eight days. Upon arriving home, I applied the soy lotion candle to the infected area. At my first visit to my doctor after the surgery, she was amazed at the healing process! I continued the soy lotion application; at three months the redness was completely gone, the scar was fading! It was then that I used the soy ball. Now one year later my facial skin is back to normal, NO SCAR!! I am so thankful for the soy candle products and their many uses. I highly recommend your great product.”

Clean Your Old Jars; We’ll Refill Them
May 10th, 2010Did you know that Isle of Candles can turn almost any glass container into a soy lotion candle? We turn wine glasses, tea cups, terra cotta pots and more into soy lotion candles. It only costs $1.25 per ounce.
To Clean Your Candle Container
The easiest way to clean your old candle containers is to pour out the melted soy oil (or wax) before it solidifies again. Then, you can usually wipe the jar clean with a paper towel.
If your wick is spent and there is soy or wax build up in the candle, get out the hairdryer. Not just for hair anymore, hairdryers are excellent sources of heat to melt away candle remains that won’t burn any longer.
Recycle the Soy Lotion Candles You Bought from the Isle
We also encourage you to bring back the glass candle containers you buy at our store so we can refill them for you. The 11 oz candles are $18.99 on the shelf. We can refill them for $13.75.
We have customers who ship boxes filled with empty glass jars to us for an annual refilling. We especially love to refill candle containers from other companies.
Each container must hold at least 4 ounces and you can pick and choose your refill fragrances at will.
Isle Candlemaker on TV
April 10th, 2010Your favorite candlemaker was on television…again! If you know Ken (a.k.a. “Buddy”), you likely know he is the Myrtle Beach Pelicans baseball team’s #1 fan. And the local news got hold of him again.
And if you have recently been in our retail store and received a postcard from us, turn it over–there is a picture of Ken busy at work in the candle factory.
Soy Lotion Testimonial: Cat Scratched
April 1st, 2010Dear Isle of Candles,
Caught my husband in my soy lotion candle this weekend treating a cat scratch from the neighbor’s cat. That explains the lovely “Fresh Crisp Linen” smell of my husband. Do you have soy candles with no fragrance for those manly men so they don’t have to sneak around in my candles?
Dear Cat Scratched,
Not only do we have Fragrance Free” candles we also have a candle called “JUST FOR HIM.” It is a men’s cologne. And we have “BLUE WATER” which is the men’s cologne, “Cool Water.”

Remove Candle Wax from Candle Holders
February 25th, 2010You love the candlelight glow you get every time you light your living room and dining room tapers. But in the daytime, you see you’re often left with an awful, waxy mess (unless you are in the habit of using dripless candles).
To remove this candle wax from your beautiful candle holders, put the candle holders in the freezer for about an hour. The cold helps to harden the wax, which can then be lifted off. Use your fingernail to scrape off the wax or try a plastic spatula to break it free.
If there is some persistent wax that still won’t scrape off, use your hair dryer on the high setting to melt the wax. Wipe clean with a paper towel.
Simple hot, soapy water should remove any wax smudges left behind.
